Nystagmus Awareness Day

Nystagmus Awareness Day is an international awareness day marked worldwide by charities, organisations and individuals (including the UK's Nystagmus Network). It raises awareness of nystagmus, a condition that causes involuntary eye movements and can affect vision, balance and depth perception. Nystagmus is often invisible and poorly understood, so the day promotes greater understanding and support. For digital accessibility, this means designing for low vision and visual fatigue: clear typography, strong contrast, adjustable text size, reduced visual clutter, and avoiding reliance on precise eye tracking or fine visual detail.
