Blue Beanie Day

International

Description

Blue Beanie Day is an annual celebration of web standards, inspired by Jeffrey Zeldman’s book Designing with Web Standards and the blue beanie he wore on its cover. Participants wear blue beanies and share photos online to show their support for building the web with semantic HTML, CSS, and progressive enhancement.

The day champions the idea that following web standards is not just good engineering practice but a foundation for accessibility, ensuring websites work across devices, browsers, and assistive technologies for all users.
